IVAN OKHLOBYSTIN:  INEMA IS A DANGEROUS TOOL

The Russian section of the 31-th Moscow Film Festival presented two ways of creative search: first inspired by historical past, second facing modern life. Ivan Okhlobystin managed to plunge into waters of both rivers, being in focus both at the court of Ivan IV (in "the Czar" by Pavel Lungin), and in today's Moscow (in "Figa.Ro" by Rano Kubaeva). DE I has already acquainted readers with varied facets of his life ( 16/17, 2008). This interview is a look into the cinematography of Russia not only of an artist but also of a church minister.

DE I: Is not acting a sin for an Orthodox person? It's demiurgia, creation of your own world!

  Creating an electric vehicle or a new vegetable are also works for the demiurge. Nothing moves or grows by itself.

DE I: Vegetable has got no effect on human consciousness.

  Oh yes it has! If it is not there, all you think is only about it! Believe me, in this world everything affects everything else. At the top of the pyramid of influence there are the actors and there are millions of people who want to be like them.
